This post is likely one of a few on the same subject….
This week was a research week, which didn’t produce answers, only a new way of looking at a topic that has always fascinated me. How are sex and money related? Why is there so much tied together in this conversation and relationship? How can an individual look at this intimate dance between the two? What are some empowerment tools or techniques in this area?
One obvious answer is the archetype approach with prostitute energy: the self inquiry question: “when and where in my life have I worked in a role or job that went against my own values for security or money?” When I considered this question newly while reading “How to be less stupid about race” By Crystal M. Fleming, my framework of North American capitalist doctrine of discovery, with the nuances and privilege that I enjoy, I realized that my perspective on this subject starts out from a place that is ultimately completely bias.
So then I thought of another approach which could address this in an energetic way, another self discovery lens which is using the intersection of Vibrational Medicine(Gerber, MD. Richard. 2001), Anatomy of the Spirit (Myss, Caroline 1996) and You can heal your life (Hay, Louise. L 1984).
When Myss (1996) writes the chapter on the 2nd chakra, there is a section called: THE ENERGY OF MONEY
“people equate money with their life [force] energy-an often unconscious subsitution-the consequences are usually negative, for every dollar spent is an unconscious expenditure of energy. A scarcity of money translates into a scarcity of energy in the body itself.”
“so many of the physical problems created by financial stress manifest in the sexual organs” Myss, p. 152
I considered the tools that I have and my abilities to “read” my second chakra. Richard Gerber, MD wrote the book: Vibrational Medicine: The #1 handbook of subtle energy therapies (2001) gives some background on what the chakra system is:
‘the chakra system is the non-conscious energetic functioning which can be “read” as it gathers information about an individual’ Gerber, p. 234
Ultimately if things are less than any person would like, our chakra would correspondingly be more closed (occasionally more open) than would signify ideal vibration. Not balanced and flowing. This process led me to look prosperity up in Louise L. Hay who writes on page 121: A Lesson in RECEIVING:
Accept Compliments: “Compliments are gifts of prosperity” (Hay, p.121)
Do I accept compliments? Is it not easier for me to receive negative feedback (criticism) than positive? How much is my inner critic still active? When was the last time I complimented myself? Do I give compliments?
And then lastly, back to Myss: brilliant woman put these questions for self reflection in the end of every chapter. Chapter 2, 2nd Chakra Question 10 reads:
“what goals do you have for yourself that you have yet to pursue? What stands in the way of your acting upon these goals?” (Myss, p. 166)
There is not an end to this post except to stop writing, as I am in process with these questions, curious how these ideas fit together and still learning. Would love to hear your thoughts?

Wow, great insights and great questions being asked of us. Thank you for your insight on how these three separate authors’ thoughts on prosperity, actually intersect.
Thanks Rinette!!
